Michael Murtagh has more than 25 years experience in the seed and venture capital sector, helping many Australian and international companies to commercialise their products.
Michael worked in London for more than a decade with a privately-operated seed capital investment firm and technology incubator. He has accumulated extensive experience in strategic planning, business development and management.
For a decade Michael was a private sector consultant ’Comet Business Advisor’ involved in the delivery of the Commonwealth Government’s (through Ausindustry) Commercialising Emerging Technologies (“Comet”) grant assistance scheme. Michael has assisted over 120 start up firms during this period.
Prior to establishing Wavebreak International, Michael worked for three years for the Gold Coast Innovation Centre, a not for profit technology incubator funded by Queensland State Government, Gold Coast City Council and Griffith University.
He holds a Masters degree in Business Administration from the London City University and a Bachelor of Business degree from Southern Cross University. He has previously been an adjunct lecturer to Griffith University’s MBA program.
